Research and planning blog tasks

1) One key convention that ill use is a medium close up of 50 Cent to show his clothes that he is wearing to help the readers understand the theme of the magazine.i will also have a central image of 50 Cent as he is the main focus of the magazine. My magazine will also contain a bar code and price on it.

2)

One convention i will take from this is how 50 Cent's head is covering the magazine title as the magazine brand is very big and the audience will know what the brand is.

One convention of this is the central image to bring the focus on Eminem as he is the main focus and is very famous

In this magazine cover i like the the lighting on 2pac as it fits in well with dark back ground.

In this magazine i enjoy the simplicity of having two colours as it does not over complicate it.

I like how the magazine has all members of the group so its makes it inclusive so everyone can see who is involved.

film interview

film director: Shamsher Saran = SS

interviewer: Dean Henderson = DH

Q1)  DH = what is your background and how did you become interested in film making?

SS = Very good question their Dean so lets see I am born in England to an Indian family in Southall as a child film making never ever once popped into my mind until I was maybe 16 17 I saw it as a way to express my inner creativity through films.

DH =  You are young ethnic minority director. Do you think it was harder for you to get a voice in the industry? How did you overcome these obstacles?

SS = Most certainly being young alone was hard enough to be recognised but being ethnic minority made it twice as hard I personally went through many hardships and experienced a lot of racism on my path as a successful film director but one thing id say helped me through is perseverance, preserver through the difficulties believe you can achieve more than you already are and I guarantee you, you will achieve your goals and dreams.

Statment of intent

Title: The Rippler

tagline: Silence is not your ally

Logline: A man named Eric Blanc (who is a hiker) mother and father died in a car crash goes on a hike with a few friends in a forest. They later disappear one by one but realise what is causing it in the end but its to late.

Full narrative: On a normal morning day a man named Eric Blanc receives a call from the police informing him that his mother and father has died in a car crash . Eric spends the next two days grieving and pondering on why it had to be his mother and father. After he gains some sort of his senses he contacts friends Jeff,Steve,Chloe and Maya and lets them know what has happened. In an attempt to help Eric relief some stress and cope with it they decide to go on a long hike with Eric. They set out the next day to the Ripple nature reserve which is believed to be be closed of due to gruesome murders being taken place their, they go along believing they are just stories to scare kids from heading their as a few hours pass by Steve and Chloe keep mentioning how they feel a presence is watching them but just believe their mind is just playing with them they take a quick water break and set down their things. Above them they all seem to spot a blacked out figure sitting above them and freak out a twig snaps near by and they realise Chloe they all began to panic and scream her name out and try to call police but they receive no signal they then began to search for her but a a little card is left on top of Chloe's belongings witch has a finger on the a lip as if it was shushing someone Eric then realises that Steve is now missing and where he was standing is a cross with a few drops of blood on it.Maya then begins to breakdown they grab their things and begin to track back the way they came trying to get out of their while trying to call the police at the same time as the day goes by the set up a night camp to sleep Jeff then goes out with Maya to get some fire wood half an hour goes by and Eric begins to worry what has happened, he then takes a look at the card and tries to figure out what it means he flips the card around and it reads Silence = with a picture of skull with a signature at the bottom the Rippler then realises that the silence is what will lead him to his death but its too late he feels a tap on his shoulder and turns around to see Jeff covered in blood with a knife leaking of blood...

website plan: On my website homepage ,I will feature typical conventions of a website homepage such as trailer and links to social media. Their will also be shots of the blacked figure, one of Ripple forest to help establish the setting of the film. Their will also be an interview with the director who will give an insight on how the film with a low budget and small amount of time and how that he created and old fashion and nostalgic film which brings back the feeling of uncertainty and pure horror. The director a 19 year old student of London theatre school has worked under the wing of many famous and well established actors of horror films which would give him plenty of experience and knowledge of the genre.

photography plan: My photography will contain spine chilling images and bring curiosity to the audience. I will be creating a picture with a cross dripped with blood to bring a sense of  fear into my audience. In another the image I will be taking a picture of the setting where majority of the story will take place this is so the audience will have a clear idea of where the story takes place which would be a forest which would appear peaceful from the outside until they see the sign The ripple which would be sort of etched onto a wooden sign to bring a sort of juxtaposition as the forest looks calm and peaceful but the sign looks sinister and evil. The last image will be of a blacked out figure sitting on a branch the fact their is no visibility of the characters surface adds a whole level of uncertainty and questions why is it their? who is it? what is its purpose? and the colour black also adds more uncertainty to haunt on viewers keeping the character mysterious and hidden and to create an enigma code.

Representation: In my film i made the characters diverse as i have involved an Asian character called Maya and African character called Chloe and then two white male characters Jeff and Steve

Doctor Who: Language and Representations

Class: Audience and Industry blog tasks

Audience:

1) it got 820000 i believe it did so bad as it was shown after 10 where most people or teenagers would either be sleeping or in their room.

2) Young adults and Teenagers

3) personal identity- Being able to relate to the fact that April's Dad isn't there for her which many people can relate to not having a dad who is their for them.

Personal Relationship- The personal relationship could be with someone like Ram as he is seen as a bit of a mean and unlikeable character but slowly you begin to see a good side of him and begin to like him.

diversion- Corakinus's world can be used as escapism as its in another planet that does not exist.

Surveillance- There is not much that you can take from it educationally or generally.

4)We get excitement from this show (the use of different relationships between people building up.

5)

industries:

1)To educate, entertain and inform.

2)BBC3 went online in Feb 2016 because young people don't tend to watch tv.

3) It informs you of struggles of some teens go through. it educates as it takes you to outer space and you can learn about space it entertains as its a series that keeps you hooked constantly.

4)The distribution of class contributed to the failure of the show, as it was shown online.

5)Shown in America, where it was more popular. I believe it was not successful as in America they most likely did not know about BBC1.

Comparison: An Unearthly Child and Co-owner of a Lonely Heart

1) The camera work in Doctor Who was shaky because they done it by hand compare to Class where it is much more steadily done because of stands and tracks. The sound is more realistic in class compare to Doctor Who.

2) In an unearthly child, the design/layout of the TARDIS is like a spaces ship (alien like).

E.g. the design pattern on the wall of the TARDIS is like small lights which give a feeling of Sci-Fi.

Whilst in Co-owner of a lonely heart there is the futuristic weapon that Ms. Quill has and there is the blue orb which gives a felling of Sci-Fi.

3) In an unearthly child they meet the remit of educate and entertain whilst in Co-owner of a lonely heart they only entertain. An unearthly child educates about science, history, space and time travel and it is entertaining for the audience. In Co-owner of a lonely heart there is only entertainment for the audience as it is aimed at 16-34 year-old.

4) In an unearthly child the representations of women are put as inferior towards men. This can be seen in when Barbara and Ian are in the junkyard and the doctor keeps looking at Barbara ignorantly and keeps talking to Ian "Young man..." Whilst in Co-owner of a lonely heart the women are superior. This can be seen when April is looking down and shouting at her farther then threatens to attack her. In Dr. who there is not that much diversity, there is only white middle-upper class actors/actresses. Whilst in Class there are BAME and white actors/actresses from all backgrounds and classes.

5) Both Dr. Who and Class have forms of diversion and entertainment as it fills their time in, it is relaxing and is full of enjoyment for the audience.
